The Wedding
There is silence in heavenThe earth quivers in expectationThe glory of the Lord is coming downAll has been completedThere are no more tasks to doEverything is preparedThe marriage of the Lamb is comeThe Bride has made herself readyClothed in fine linen clean and whiteShe is seated to receive the guestsAnd greets them every oneThe sound of trumpets pierces the air“The bridegroom is coming, go out to meet him.”From the door of the temple there is a light in the blacknessThe sound of horses in the distanceEveryone’s lamps are raised in greetingThe light guiding the wayThrough the gloom of the night a white horse appearsThe rider clothed in glistening whiteAll those present bow in reverence at his approachThe King of kings, the Lord of lordsThe bridegroom stands at the entrance of the templeThose in attendance stand in aweThe bride turns her head in wonderTo behold the sight of His gloryHer heart leaps in anticipationAs He moves toward the altarAnd stands under the banner of loveShe moves forward and stands before HimHe places a red veil over her headPromising to cover her with his gloryHe tells her of his love and the promises of the futureShe circles around him seven timesBeholding His perfectionAnd takes her place at His right handThe betrothal blessing is readThey share the cup of the new wine of the kingdomHe takes the ring and places it on her handAnd declares before the two witnesses present 'Behold my wife'A cheer ascends to heaven asThe glory of the Lord descendsEnveloping them bothEvery one claps their handsThey shout praises to His nameThe ground shakes for joyThe mountains and hills singThere is feasting rejoicing and laughterFor the two have become one againAs it was in the beginning.
