He confounded the wise in their own craftinessHe revealed himself to babesThose who became as little childrenGuileless, dependent, vulnerableHe hid himself in simplicityHe preached in parablesHe revealed himself to sinnersHe ate with publicansHe accepted hospitality from tax collectorsBecause they took him as He wasThey sat and enjoyed his presenceMarvelled at his wisdomGreeted him with a kissAnointed his headWept and washed his feetThose that were blind learnt that he healedThose that could not walk learnt he restored limbsThose that touched his garment learnt faith works miraclesThose that craved money learnt it was not necessaryThere was no ostentatious Christian jargonIt was simple truth
Those who received the Holy SpiritDid not have the learn another languageThey did not have to sit at Gamaliel's feetThey did not have to consider their travelsThey went where they were leadThey were found in other placesAs a child they did not understand why they had to goYet they saw his miracles on the wayThey went doubting nothingThey trusted his leading.They took no thought for the morrowThey were content with their stateThey were babes they did not seek their own gloryThey walked beside their FatherDaddy hold my handLead me where you willI feel safe with youAbsolute trustAbsolute faithAbsolute love
