LIFTED
My soul sank beneath the wavesMy vain struggles were at an endThe surface of hope shrank from viewAs I descended into the depth of the seaThe darkness enveloped meThe cold chilled my bonesThe pressure crushed meSinking, collapsing, groaningLike a ship dying in the oceanThe straw I clutched fell from my upraised handIn despair I whispered "Lord save me"The Lord heard my murmurHe moved over the face of the watersAnd saw me through the enveloping deathHe spoke the words "Let there be light"The clouds were pushed asideThe brightness of the noon day sunPierced to the bottom of the deepest crevasseDispelling all the darknessI felt my soul liftingAs on the wings of a great eagleStrong solid strokes, risingBeating Grace, Grace, Grace, Grace
lifting me up with the undercurrent of His loveI was flying through the cloudsOver the mountainsWatching all the people as specks on the groundThe houses and the cars like toys on the carpetBreathing the fresh airThe scent of the freedom of the SpiritLightness and purityI was cradledFolded close in His arms"I have found you", He said"I have found you whom I had lost"
