Some treat God as a kingThey bow and scrape, They beg and pleadThey pay their taxes, They obey all the rulesThe commands and the orders, The jots and the tittlesThey seek to please for benefits receivedGod to be feared, Fear that has tormentFear of judgment, Burning punishmentNo love needed, all care no responsibilityJust do as your told no questions to be askedBlind obedience, no faith required"Faithful God fearing servants"
Some Treat God as a friendThey arrive occasionallyEat the biscuits, scoff the cakeDrink the coffee, raid the fridgeSpend time talking laughingTelling stories and eventsGo on outings, best matesThen they leave and are goneThe odd phone call and emailAsking favours, requesting helpUntil the next time they come...
Some treat God as a fatherFlesh and blood relationshipLiving together under the same roofThe father providing every thing,Disciplined, trained and tutoredWorking hard in the fathers vineyardExpecting a living and an inheritanceThe Diligent and and Prodigal loved alikeLoved for who they are -not what they doUnconditional love, An inseparable bond,Always sons of the Father
Some treat God as a bridegroomAn intimate relationshipInseparably close, Fitted togetherSharing everything, withholding nothingThe bank account and the bedroomThe bride and groom seeking to please each otherEnjoying each others presenceLonging to be together when apartProviding, nurturing, loving and caringWhere the two become one fleshEach for each other
